Argentine writer and cultural journalist and the son of novelist Héctor Libertella and poet Tamara Kamenszain, Mauro Libertella was included in Bogotá39, the list of the most striking young Latin American writers of the moment in 2017. His debut Mi libro enterrado (My Buried Book), explores the relationship he had with his father and addresses the inevitable concept that everyone faces sooner or later: the moment we realise that our parents will not live on eternally. The novel is a moving story about the life and death of one of the former cult writers of Argentina, Héctor Libertella, and about the bond between father and son beyond the deathbed.
Mauro Libertella (Mexico City, 1983) graduated in Literature from the Universidad de Buenos Aires and lives and works in Buenos Aires. His debut novel is his first title to appear in Dutch translation (Mijn begraven boek), in August 2018. He is one of The Chronicles of the festival this year.
